You got the ticket because you're driving the vehicle. In their mind you should have found it during your pretrip.
-
as simple as my answer sounds,it is because you signed off on the PTI and should have caught the chaffed air line. not sure if it was the supply lines truck to trailer but the DOT notices the low hangers immediately if not sooner. I see so many drivers that have service lines just laying on the cat walk, stretched to oblivion that i wonder how they are not pulled over getting checked out. generally,as you now well know,it is the obvious that gets us out here.
if it was not the obvious, the DOT officer was doing or did a thorough check it would seem.It appears as if he rather strict to shut you down. -
It wasnt a blue or red line but one under truck. Yea he was a bit strict. And still with question. Does those points go against my cdl
OPUS 7 Thanks this. -

No points against licence, but it will have massive points against CSA score for the O.O.S.

Against company right?

Both you and the company.
A tip our safety guy gave us was to take a picture of a violation with a camera and send it to him. It helps them dispute the iffy ones with DataQ.OPUS 7, BROKENSPROKET, skellr and 1 other person Thank this. -
That's nuts!I would seek advice from a lawyer, before taking any kind of hit for a wear mark on a line.
You could probably do an inspection on a cop car,and find some sort of bogus mechanical defect.
He was getting his quota for the day..Screw thatdjjerrylee1 Thanks this.
