Exactly,.. and not trying to be a douche,.. as I have went through this. In Fla,.. and I didnt know my license was suspended. I got the letter in the mail,.. because I was behind. I got it caught back up. They suspended my license anyway. I was pulled over for my tag light out,.. they took my physical license from me and took the tag off my car.

The next day I had to sit in line at the child support enforcement office with 45 angry baby momma's and me trying to do the right thing. I had to get a letter from them before the DMV would reinstate my license. I told the IRS/Child support office what happened. They said,.. Oh,.. sorry,.. guess we made a mistake. Gave me the paper I needed. Still cost me $150 for the reinstatement fee and $85 to get another tag and registration done.

    So I have been there.

Thing is,.. and this is coming from an O/O,.. you are a risk. Your license could be suspended at any time while out on the road in my truck. There is no way in hell I would want to go rescue my loaded truck and get fined or risk losing the line haul rate because delivery was late.

Thats the sad reality that you are up against. Nothing against you personally,.. this is just business.

I would recommend finding some other temporary emplyment,.. get your payments caught up to where they will reinstate your license,.. and even then its going to be tough as your record will still show a suspension. I had to pay $900 to an attorney to petition a judge to remove the suspension from my record.

I agree,. and not only that,.. they can also arrest and put you in jail. How are you supposed to earn an income in jail? You risk losing your domicle, car payments,.. repo? A lot can go wrong when getting behind in child support. been there,.. done that.

I have heard of guys coming out of jail for child support,.. only to get rebooked 30 seconds later for the same thing.

    Bottom line,..

Pay your child support. If you are going to get behind or late,.. go to the support office and talk with one of their agents. They can put a flag on your case showing intent to correct. At the very least you'll get a 30 day free pass to get caught back up.

Any time your employment changed,.. (Your making less money) it is in your best interest to have your case re-evaluated so your payments match what you can afford. Else they will continue to expect the same money you made when you were earning $1500 a week and now only making $11hr.

Sending a murderer to prison doesn't bring the dead person back to life. It's punitive and a deterrent. When you neglect your children, you get punished. It also, ideally, will make the next guy think long and hard about the consequences of not taking care of his kids.

Because EVERYONE knows child support = taking care of your children. As soon as the judge ordered i pay child support and the money started flowing to my ex, she bought a new car. Like magic.

    Mine did the same thing.

We have no control over how the money is spent or who or where it benefits.

Like it or not,.. once court ordered to pay support,.. thats it. I paid $680 a month for my daughter till she was almost 10 yrs old and finally won custody because my wife got her self arrested for domestic violence. Then she not only was ordered to pay me support,.. but she had 2 other kids with her boyfriend who by then had a restraining order on her and he and his new girlfriend was living in the house that I originally bought. ex wife had to pay support for 3 kids!

Who says karma doesnt have a sense of humor?

I know we have each of our own personal stories about the break down of the american family and the children who suffer but, I think if i got a warning letter stating that my ability to drive would be hindered, Id pay up real fast……….and thats all the state wants is for you to pay.

On topic, Id try to find a smaller company who can't really afford to pick through drivers….If I was the OP.
