If she's on any type of public assistance, the courts and state ain't getting out of it. Assuming of course it's the same as Washington state.

I would recommend against it as well.

I had a client who paid direct to his wife under an agreement. Somehow, there was an issue made and she ended up with double payments for a while after complaining to the state when mad at her ex.

Seems payments not made through the court are not considered as paid.

I have always found it to be easier to write the check myself and then send it to the state for them to send to her. This way, I always know it has been paid, the state has a record of it being paid, and everyone is happy.

No I.O.U.'s but they do take CDL's. Get behind and Ex complains, you will get a letter, bring current or lose your driving privilege. I had the experience 20 years ago.

why dont you go to court to lower the payment? all you have to do is show the judge how much less your makeing now.

And for 66% for an EX! you'd be better of takeing your kids from her and make her pay YOU!

In SC if you dont make your Child support payment, they take your License away (including your CDL) and put you in jail!

So when you get out 6months-1 yrs later, you now have to go back to truck driving school and find a job with a recent jail time on your record not to mention pay for school and the CDL again after being in jail and not makeing any money

and since your in jail she doesnt get any money either...how stupid is that!?
