That's a good business venture. Another Chinese guy leased a whole village that had been abandoned because everyone went to the cities as migrant workers. He made it a vacation resort and is making a profit of $1000.00 USD every day; that's $365,000.00 USD every 12 months in his pocket. The villagers are PO'd that they didn't think of it first. He has a 10 yr. lease on the village and knows the villagers are out for blood when the lease expires, so he just laughs and says, "That's ok, I'm going to walk away a rich man and they can have the headaches."

 

Don't remember which country, but I think it's either Laos or Cambodia, that China wants to build a high speed rail network for freight and passengers. The country is very poor and bankrupt and said they can't afford to get involved financially. China said, ok we'll build it and pay for it, plus we'll build freight and passenger terminals along the way. We'll hire your people for the labor and the Chinese will be the engineers and managers of the project. Of course, they agreed. China needs that connection of rail to connect the Asian countries for the "Belt & Road Initiative" which means all the Asian countries will be able to have lucrative trade deals and make billions of dollars a year in economic trade with each other.
They're already shipping freight by rail from Shanghai to London,England; it's much cheaper than by ship.
