That may be possible, I have no clue to be honest. Any way to check if they aren't knock offs?

Yoko's are good, have had good luck with firestone as well. Also ran a set of sailun (think that's how it's spelled) to 150k and all 10 wore very good

Buy from a dealer. This is why our current administration has a beef with Chinese now. If you think of it, it’s very easy for foreign adversaries to decimate any brands from your country till they get under.

    From google:
Which factor is hydroplaning usually caused by?

Wet road surfaces can cause tires to hydroplane. This could result in loss of control and steering ability, as your tires may lose contact with the pavement. Hydroplaning is caused by a combination of standing water on the road, car speed, and under-inflated or worn-out tires.

I've had good luck with Hankook drives.
Yokes wore good, but rode a little rough.

On passenger and light truck tires. Traction is measured when braking on a wet skid pad. It has nothing to do with dry handling on curves or acceleration. That is what the speed rating is for as well as it’s max attainable sustained speed before failure. The manufactures rate them on how much the tread will give you in full controlled panic stop in the wet. A,B,C..
A being the best and shortest stopping distance. C being the longest.
Heavy truck tires are tested the same way but the ratings are not required to be molded in the sidewalls like the p-metric stuff is.

Goodyear sat eagles. Same as factory put on the car. It only happened when they were brand new, there was a lot of water on the Interstate, but no one else seemed to be having trouble. It was hydroplaning, worse I’ve than never experienced, down right dangerous.

I don't know how well the offshore tires hold up in strictly OTR environments but in a construction/offroad vocation they might be better.

Offroad you tend to get a few flats from rocks, sticks, debris etc. Plus being off pavement will you really notice if your tires are slightly out of round?
