Well that explains why you have to take a reset on the road. Running that hard will raise red flags in regulation. If u ran solid 11 hours you averaged 66.5 miles an hour that raises flag it also destroy your 70. Average speed is no more then 64.
-
Exactly how does regulatory have any right to scrutinize an IC as long as they are following traffic laws?
-
It doesn't matter ic or company when the computer decides to do a audit it doesn't discriminate. It just randomly picks logs. Also if dot sees somthing off they can start digging deeper..

I have never seen any IC be scrutinized for his average speed so long as he was not breaking the posted speed limit. All the time I spent as an OSR we never once had an IC brought in for averaging over 65 mph. I have done annual certifications on IC's and have not bothered to say a word about their speed unless the average was above 72 mph. Any experienced OSR would uncheck the company violation box when looking at a IC's logs using RAIR since the items flagged as company violations Do NOT apply to Independent Contractors.
The only thing in the safety policies for an IC that has anything to do with speed is that they agree to obey the posted speed limit. As for logs being audited it is done by the regulatory compliance team. They review logs for all drivers. The computer chooses random logs from each driver and are then given a once over for compliance, any logs that appear to be out of compliance are given a once over by a set of human eyes. I believe the statement above is 100 percent inaccurate.Last edited: Mar 7, 2014

Schneider is also installing driver facing, and sleeper-view cameras in IC trucks, requiring me to install a DPF on my APU and limiting my APU run time to no more than 10 hours. Also they monitor my in-cab temperature to make sure that I'm not too comfortable. BETTER GO PUT ON MY TIN FOIL HAT GUYS.trucker43 Thanks this.
