68 is fun isnt it especially if your in a hurry or theres snow i use to take it alot to save money on the pa turnpike.
-
Nope, scrap paper from a recycler in Vineland. Tried really hard to take the turnpike today, but about 86 miles of it was shut down because of a wreck last night. Thought about waiting it out, but there was no place to park. 68, with 43000 lbs, again. Now I am waiting for the 'locator' to come back so I can drop this trailer. Sorry I missed you, sadwar...

No worries. I made it all the way down to just North of Charlotte. Another tough haul for you..... Ouch!mickimause Thanks this.

mine was a navigo routing to Carlisle that was avoiding the toll roads. So they routed me longer and had me take HEAVY from 70 eb down 79 off at US30 to soemthng else then US40 down to 68. twists and turns running over on the switchbacks. after that I ran OOR to take the pike. ALWAYS. Much more efficient. on my clocks. Less work too driving.mickimause Thanks this.

And in my company truck, average speed was 40. As long as I have 30 minutes when I leave here, I can make it back to the Love's...should have plenty of time ☺

Good day today.
Awoke and drove the one hour to my drop and hook in Zanesville OH. Easy peasy.
Then drove the one hour into Columbus for my drop and hook going to Miami. Surprise surprise, it turns out to be a live load! (Cue scary music...) But wait....the live load took 20 minutes for them to throw 10 whole pallets weighing 3800 lbs on my truck!!! (Cue the triumphant music!!!))
So I got the heck out of there and drove 400 of the 1200 miles down to Miami for my live unload on Thursday. Made it to exit 42 on I-77 in NC, just north of Charlotte. Chatted with atruckr along the way, good times!
Checked the load board out when I arrived here and finally found a good load to get me back out of Florida. I am taking a 34 on Friday to hang out with my kids in Tampa. Then I snagged a 14K lb Frito-Lay load going from Orlando to Aberdeen MD. Pick-up on Sat and deliver on Sun, D/H both ends! Sweet! Actually pays like $1.40 a mile.
Now to figure out how to get back out of the North East, again!!!
Later.........trucker43 Thanks this. -
You actually found a place to park there. Nice if u had the a extra hour you could have made the Charlotte oc.

645 miles today. All the way to the Pilot at exit 129 on I 4 in Ft Pierce Florida. 140 miles to go in the morning for my live unload west of Miami. Sunny and 82 here..... APU time....
Drifter42, mickimause, tynodine and 1 other person Thank this. -
This first company that I ever drove for used to route us through I-68 every week. I have driven that stretch easily over 100 times. It's definitely a pain in the arse. You can have some fun with it on a sunny dry day though making up time in a slow truck.
sadwar Thanks this.
