I have been fortunate enough to receive offers from three different companies, and one potential offer from another (Decker). Searched the board and found limited info on one of the companies offering to hire me. Does anyone have experience with Transport America? I want to get into the flatbed division, but since I have no experience in flatbed they require me to dry-van for 6 months before I can apply. Roehl has offered me a position in flatbed where they would put me in the division automatically after a bit of flatbed training, but the reviews for TA are generally better. I also have an offer from Ozark which is dry-van and runs NE only which would be great for home time if I so need it. Ozark has stellar reviews, but I was told they don't have the flatbed division. I am fairly new to the industry and am wondering what your opinions and experiences are as far as choosing between these companies. Should I wait with TA, or go to Roehl? Or should I forego the flatbed division altogether and go with a highly regarded company like Ozark?

I know nothing about any of the companies you listed but my advice would be to definitely start out doing flatbed. Essentially you'll be killing 2 birds with one stone.
You learn flatbed securement and how to drive all in one shot.
If down the line you want to switch to Van you wont need any further training like you would if you switched from Van to Flat bed. ( No training is needed for slamming doors on a Van trailer )just_sayin, 88 Alpha, FlaSwampRat and 3 others Thank this. -
Go Ozark and take the hometime.
Flatbed ain't all fun, but hometime always is.Vic Firth and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
