I just purchased a used 2005 extended cad Silverado
It has A nice CB Aerial antenna attached
I found the Antenna plug near the fire wall but cannot find the
wire from the fuse box.
I think the last owner had a cigarette lighter cb adapter
I read to use such an adapter the cb must have a 3 point plug
What cb should I buy for occasianaly use on trips
And where can I get a compatible lighter adapter
Thanks
cigarette lighter cb adapter

Personally I haven’t had much luck with running the power wire to the fuse box, you still run the risk of getting electrical noises just like using the cigarette lighter. I didn’t realize this till now, but Walmart sells a cigarette adapter with the wire and a three pin connector for your radio. I wouldn’t use the 15 amp fuse it comes with. All you need is a three amp fuse for a 4 watt radio. The radio already comes with a 2 amp fuse. As far as a radio for occasional trips, you can’t go wrong with the Cobra 25LTD or a Uniden PC68xl.

Find a truckstop that carries this brand.

Then look for the heavy duty lighter plug.
Mine has 12 gauge wire. -
Run it direct to battery with correct wire ga for the length req and applicable fuseable link..
