I've gone thru my share of Inverters.. always upgraded to the next higher. What I found is they are really not made for continous use and have a short life span. Cooling fans seem to be the biggest failure componet, then overheating, and then burning the windings out on the transformer..WITH A POP! AND SMOKE, lol.

The larger the Inverter, the longer the life. For Anyone looking to utilize Inverters, I'd suggest getting the most(expensive/most wattage) one you can afford.

I found the heaviest wiring(amp) accesable for most drivers is the CB factory connection. This can cause problems if you pull too much on that wiring, leaving you one of the silent majority, also keep extra CB radio fuses if the CB is in line.

Also do not, wire your "verter" from the dash fuse box, lol.

Most companies do not allow wiring up transformers and TA truckstops ect have a policy not to mess around with Company vehicles when it comes to wiring up an inverter. Companies will find a "wired truck" and likey take and keep your "verter" during a sevice. One can get someone to to install the verter, properly, just make sure when going into servicing-oil ect. at a company location to remove the verter beforehand... as the best suggestion.

As a rule of thumb, if the truck has a 100-120 or 90 amp alt., going beyong drawing 50 amps thru the verter is pretty much an impossible task going thru the cab wiring,, from the battery , one still has power(amps) restriction that should not go beyond 50 amps surging, just too much draw on the entire system imo.

Owner ops obviously can setup baterys and ALT and wiring to spec, and some company truck do have factory spec. verters.
