hey blackcat you are crying way too much over way too little. Sorry but I have to say I would much rather get in a truck that smelled like smoke than one that stunk from the dirty ### stanky no bathing moron that stunk it up with sweat and body odor. And as everyone else told you you don't like it do something about it other than ##### and wine to us cause guess what we don't care what you think

When I first started driveing LTL, one night I was in the
Mechanic shop and they were working on a real nice
sleeper truck. I asked the Mech if I could get in and look
around. I wondered about the smirk on his face when he said
go ahead. It smelt like whoever drove it had not bathed in
2 weeks. I wanted to throw up in it to make it smell better.
When I was growing up my mother smoked 3 packs a day
so I don't understand about the bad smell of cigs. Don't
    bother me.

I have found that unfortuatley when the interior is tufted or pleated, you need to get into every nook & cranny with a good cleaner. I would usually use Simple Green. The pine scent will help destroy some of the odor. There are odor killing sprays you can get at your local Pep Boys, the names right now I cannot think of, sorry. The next unfortunate thing however is that after all that cleaning the company may move you out of that truck and into another one ethier equally smelly or dirtier. this is a problem many of us face when we drive a company truck. The only sure fire way to avoid this would be to either get into a brand new truck or buy your own truck. One will happen, the other won't.

That is because you are a smoker.:biggrin_2559: You can't smell it. A non smoker would pick up on it like a drug dog at a pot farm.:biggrin_2559:

Blackcat, please refrain from posting in the overly large text that you have been here. It's just too hard on the eyes and there is really no need for it. No larger than size #3, please.

More to consider... Unless you're an O/O, it's not really your truck. Not withstanding the fact that you're in it 24/7! But if your company adopted a no-smoking policy for their power units, like most offices have, they'd be in their right. Of course they don't because they recognize the cure would be worse than the disease. Something I don't think was mentioned yet was the fact that this is mostly just a problem that comes up relatively infrequently as drivers and units are switched. In their infinite wisdom (coughs), they know that banning smoking would not only be tough to enforce, but alienate more drivers than it would accomodate. So non-smokers (self included), we lose. What would be our right to a livable workplace it seems is trumped by practicality and reason. As hard as that may be to accept, it's the reality. At least for now... I'm sure everyone's aware of the times we live in regarding litigation. All it might take is one successful lawsuit, and we all just might see some changes. Not advocating, just saying...

All topics are fair game in this forum. I think the poster has a legit beef. But as to what can or should be done about it? Someone mentioned writing it up. Can someone explain how (if) that works? Another thing, I don't understand the comparison of smoking to acts of negligence such as not checking or maintaining your rig. :biggrin_2553::biggrin_25516::biggrin_2559:

If size 7 is available, and I like using it, why can't I? Seems like you are crying about nothing. I think you should concentrate on people who use more then 1 :yes2557: smily in their post. Get a life.

As I tried to politely tell you before, it is UNNECESSARY, it hurts the eyes, and it uses too much bandwidth needlessly.

No Sir, that is NOT crying about nothing. That is merely enforcing cyberspace etiqutte, and this is your LAST warning about that before infrractions are handed out. It's becoming apparent that you showed up here to do little more than cause trouble, and don't think for a minute that you will get away with it while I'M the sheriff here.

No, I am more concerned with the rudeness of people who behave as you so far have, and be assured it is NOT well received here.
