By the same token, I also heard about Arizona Hwy Patrol making arrests for false logbooks.
Again, I was caught there once, put OOS but not arrested.

About 28 years ago I received a notice in the mail that an arrest warrant had been issued for me on a fix-it ticket I hadn't returned. That was a California court and I lived in Utah. Cost me $500 to get it taken care of.
The original violation was for having a red bug deflector. Apparently the sun shining through it could make that Kenworth look like a police car. :biggrin_25510:

Some would probably doubt that, but. If you look at the 2 lower pictures of my black 4300 Eagle,it had a red deflector also. Made it myself, was proud of it,thought the red looked good on the black. That truck was a new glider I built in 1985,and the first time I went to California with it,I was pulled over going through the WB Banning scales. Cop called me inside, asked if I could take that red deflector off, nothing red allowed to the front. No problem, unbolted it,threw it in the sidebox, cop said have a nice day.
I did get a fix-it ticket in Ca. for not having "Fire Extinguisher Inside" decal on the sidebox door though,at the old Truckee scale,by the bug check station.

Ah yes, Truckee! I had many issues with them. I got a violation there for a stretched spring on my glad hand at the trailer. Of all the things they could have found on that 1971 Kenworth that was all I got.
The red deflector I think was an excuse to stop me. I was going to Brawley with a load and turned off before I got to the scale. I think the patrolman thought I was going around the scale. BOL was the first thing out of his mouth. After that he needed to write something for a reason for the stop. Red deflector was it.
It was my fault though for not returning the report. I thought it needed to be signed off in California and I didn't go back there for a long time. I found out it could have been signed off by any police officer in any state. We live and learn.
