Recieved a citation from a small town police for this. This street has no posted no Truck signs on either end. The company has used it for many years to get to and deliver from the company yard right up the road and never had a problem.
They have recently added a sign that says "Truck" to the signage at the 3 way intersection before this road but nothing stating trucks cannot take the road to the right.
Should I have to worry about this going on my Record? Should I pay or try to fight it? I am waiting to hear back from my company.
10 years driving and this is the first time I've had to deal with something like this.
Citation for operating vehicle where prohibited

Another money grab is all that is. Probably cost some big bucks to fight it.
Sometimes OOIDA will fight those issues. -
Will OOIDA help local company drivers like me? Im just a redi-mix guy have not messed with class A stuff in years.
I just want to make sure that something like this doesnt affect my driving record. I plan on making some changes soon and am afraid this might give me problems.
Im almost willing to pay a lawyer to fight it on principle. How can i know a road we have used thousands of times is now prohibited if there is no signage to show that it is? -
I guess you have to be a member of OOIDA. I was a member for 20 years and let it lapse. I didn't use any of the services anyway.

If it is local, take lots of pictures then go to municipal court on your own. The ticket should have an ordinance number, or such that says what law you broke. Search the city ordinance website to see if it even exists or did the cop just make something up. Or, just give it to your company and let them deal with it.
bullhaulerswife, MACK E-6, TripleSix and 3 others Thank this. -
your company should be helping you with it.
Tb0n3, TripleSix and broke down plumber Thank this. -
Call the court clerk, be specific when asking if it’s a city ordinance or a moving violation. If it’s a city ordinance pay it and move on
Feedman, MACK E-6, gentleroger and 6 others Thank this. -
Lots of things are not posted. Have you ever seen a No Driving While Intoxicated sign posted like a speed limit sign or only on billboards? What about No Reckless Driving? I'm not sure what your company can do. Even if they pay the fine, it's likely your CDL number is on the ticket. Even if the company says they will pay the fine, you better monitor that they do. LOTS of drivers have had their CDL suspended when their company forgot to pay a ticket for the driver. Hire a lawyer or go to court. I don't know what else you can do.lual Thanks this.

I was a member for 1 year. I think OOIDA sent me the magazine for 5+ years. OOIDA does have a nice Lease Review service for members.

I was waiting for a comment like this.
Im not quite sure how you can compare driving while intoxicated or reckless driving to going down a road with that has no posted signage. A road that you have used and made deliveries on for years. I dont think you need to have a sign posted saying dont drive drunk or dont drive unsafe.
However I appreciate the comment.MAMservices and BeHereNow97 Thank this.
