I did some digging.
Looks like there is a recent ordinance that was passed but is being fought. Since there is really no other way for drivers to get where they need to go than through town.

 

OK, now how much is the citation? Turn it into your company as they will probably become part of the lawsuit.

 

I DIDN'T equate driving drunk with driving on prohibited road. I equated no sign saying "no trucks" and no sign saying "no DUI". Seeing trucks use a road isn't proof a road is legal for trucks. Seeing speeders isn't proof speeding is legal either. "Going with the flow" is why people ask "if everyone was jumping off a bridge would you?"

 

So where did this happen? Give us a road.

We have a road near here that they passed the ordinance, but the signs were put up by the county, and it took those lazy morons three months, so the township's cops pulled every truck over. The results were as expected; some paid, others went to court, and every ticket was tossed.

Some roads will have a posted axle limit, posted weight limit, or something about THRU TRUCKS PROHIBITED. If you’re moving ready mix, are you a thru truck?

I would definitely go down that road to take pics of the signs.

 

Fm 56 in Glen Rose Texas there is a weight limit sign but nothing indicating no trucks.
Yes I am a mixer driver, our Glen Rose yard is about a mile up the road from that 4 way intersection on hereford street. In fact I poured most of that sidewalk on the road in question.

I should also add that I was empty and therefore well below the weight restriction. Though the officer never once stated anything about weight.

 

It does not matter if you were empty or loaded; it is the weight rating of the truck and the registration they go by.

 

I am not sure it would have helped in your situation, but I would have asked that cop to tell me the exact route I needed to take if I wasn't allowed to take the one I got the citation for taking. The same thing happened to me once with a company that was based in a residential area. We had to drive through a nice upscale neighborhood to get to the yard and a sheriffs deputy pulled me over because they had put "No Truck" signs up. My boss came from the office to where the stop occurred and asked the deputy to show him the route we should take. In the end, the ticket was destroyed. I guess I got really lucky that deputy had some decency.

 

You guys should be able to buy a weight tolerance permit for the FM road and be fine. It used to go by county but now I think Texas has zones you can buy permits for. When I was hauling cattle I had overweight permits for a few places in Texas and could run the load zoned FM roads. The limit is based off the old bridge law from back in the day.
