I'm wondering why you took an engine apart at 500,00 if it looked so new inside???

It probably seemed like the thing to do at the time.

In about 1980 I knew a bloke who had a 550 Honda four with over 100k miles on it, a bit over 2 years old, he was a bike messenger in London.
He always changed the oil every single Saturday morning, it was like a religion with him.
Once he changed it, went away for the week on a break and changed it again when he got back having not used the bike at all, it was just a habit!
By 100k the bike was pretty worn out generally, obviously it was never built to be abused in the world it lived in, but had made good money and had never had an engine break down, although plenty of other bits had worn out and he replaced it.
For interest, and with a half hearted idea of one day renovating it ( he never did! ) he stripped the motor to see how worn it was, and basically it wasn't. There was a tiny ridge at the top of the bore, and the cam chain was perhaps half worn and there was no other discernable wear at all, it was quite unbelievable.
Totally convinced me of the value of early oil changes, and I've followed it for nearly 40 years. Shame there's no similarly easy was to stop the rest of the vehicle from rusting or wearing out though.Heavyd Thanks this. -
