Your right. A good friend of mine works for Drivers Solutions. I was speaking to her a while back about helping a guy get into C1 and after asking her how things were going otherwise she sighed and said trying to deal with a con artist. He thought he was going to con them and all went well till he arrived at the Indiana DMV and hit a brick wall. They ran that guys butt off!

Finally the Trucking Industry has weaded out the bad, and Many Veteran drivers retired, Not many REAL GOOD drivers left. My Opinion, UPS has a Majority of the industries best drivers. There pay scale is the highest.

I'm going to echo and agree with this. I was speaking to a friend this past Sunday over coffee about an incident involving one of his trucks out on I 64. His truck was hit by a student and the trainer was reported to have only 4 months experience. God help us is this become a standard practice.Wargames Thanks this.

these trucking companies pay a lot of money to insure a driver. They don't want to fork out more than they have to. It took a least 20 years and now finally caught up with these trucking companies. Pay more, get better drivers.

This exodus of veteran drivers started in the latter part of the 80s. By the end of the 90s it was in full scale mode. My father retired in 1992. One of the first things he told me afterward was how sorry he was that this industry had turned into what it has become. Today in 2018 I honestly can't say I disagree with him.Wargames Thanks this.

if a trucking company has VERY GOOD DRIVERS, they should KEEP THEM AT ALL COST, higher wages. I was going to retire soon, short of being on medicare, I have a great retirement, but the company is throwing some good ol cash my way. Im staying for a little longer, who knows, with good pay, might never retire, just expire. ha, ha, ha

I started back In 74, had a few medical issues, but over came all, im tired of trucking but the money is great. I have a bad habbit of spending.

Higher wages will bring the trucking industry back. WITH GOOD DRIVERS.

These companies now like to see a driver , NO CONVICTIONS (felony, murder) NO TICKETS, NO ACCIDENTS, NO INCIDENTS, and can get the job done as fast as they can WITHOUT PROBLEMS. AND SAFETY IS PRIORITY.
