That work has to be done. Garbage trucks are class B vehicles. A lot of construction site vehicles are class B vehicles. Most wreckers are class B vehicles. A lot of the time, those types of jobs pay decently with being home every night. And, often upward advancement is easier, as compared to a trucking company. Basically, I am co-signing what you are saying and adding specifics to back it up.

Thanks. I like driving tractor trailer and have no problem with either tractor trailer or straight truck. I was hoping to drive a tractor trailer primarily because I'd like to gain class A experience, however this job pays well and has a lot of advantages even over other local jobs.

Having the class A is a plus, you never know when it may come in handy. Don’t sweat the small stuff, the class A doesn’t become less valuable because you’re not using it.
Do the work that makes you happy & if you ever have a need for that class A demand a premium for it. You have a credential most of you coworkers don’t have. -
Stop worrying about it friend. Like others said you might have to do a refresher but as long as your cdl is active and your record is clean you will be able to get a job with class A.jmarc77 Thanks this.
