I’m about to take my class b drivers test and i passed my hazmat and tanker endorsements and I’m interested in getting a job doing home oil or propane delivery locally on long island. Does anyone on here do this? Im curious if it pays well and is a good steady career besides the fact that in some states it gets slow in the summer depending how warm it gets. I’m looking at companies like Petro Home Services and Slomin’s a reputable company with good benefits.

Why aren't you getting a Class-A license?

Class B propane ain't bad if its year round work. Pay is by the hr at larger companies. But class A propane work is far better than B

Gate Gourmet and Sky Chef's trucks use Class-A and will keep you busy all year.
If you've ever flown on commercial passenger aircraft, notice the food carts the stewards push in the aisles delivering food and beverages to the passengers. Gate Gourmet and Sky Chef's are the companies that deliver those to the aircraft and bring the empty carts from the previous flight back to the company.
I think both companies divisions in NYC are union also.

I have a friend that drives a class B delivery truck for suburban propane. He does very well there and has worked for them going on 20 years now.
