class B to class A log book question

    Once you travel over 100 miles you need to log. I do two out of town routes and have to log for 6 days. Keep my hours under 60

    e) Short-haul operations.
    (e)(1) 100 air-mile radius driver. A driver is exempt from the requirements of §395.8 if:

    (e)(1)(i) The driver operates within a 100 air-mile radius of the normal work reporting location;

    I can answer this. This is straight from DOT at one of the Mex/USA bridges in Brownsville, TX.

    I drove a school bus . . . but during the summers I worked at a transit bus company. One of the stops on every route was in Matamoros, Mexico . . . so we had to go through DOT inspection every day :biggrin_2552:

    The DOT officer told me the following (I will use my school bus as an example):


    Log the last seven days in my school bus exactly as I would log in the coach bus. But instead of a starting point and ending point, just write in LOCAL.

    That easy. Hope it helps.
