Looking to get a delivery job for a year while my primary job gets moving again from this virus. I don’t have the time or money to spend on CDL school for a class A. Is it feasible to study the books and show up at the dmv to take CDL B myself? Never driven a truck but I’ve operated heavy equipment/airplanes so I’d say i can usually manage motor skills and such. Any advice will help! Thank you all
Some companies that use Class B trucks will train you. Where is your location? I remember now; you're in Florida. ~ Leslie's Poolmart 5402 Pioneer Park Blvd, Ste.D Tampa 33634-4485 Have 60 days to acquire the license, after being hired. Don't know what's involved in acquiring a Class-C (CDL) Click ---->> Apply On Company Site Serves the needs of commercial pool operators, such as hotels and apartment complexes, with excellent business to business skills and communication. Must obtain a Class C commercial driver's license (CDL) with Hazmat endorsement within 60 days of assuming the trainee position.
If you have access to a truck to practice on and use for a road test than its doable. Wont be in 2 years when the new federal guideline goes into affect which was supposed to be last December.
There's a ton of expediter companies that use Sprinter Vans and box trucks that you don't need a CDL for too. Check out www.expeditejobs.com and www.expeditersonline.com
