You guys are brain dead, that is excatly why the company carries insurnce, You can go ahead and let them push you around. I've been a this trucking game since the early 80's. I park the company tractor and trailer right next to my fence and if the unfortunate happen, then I will call them let them know what happened, but I will not take financial responsibity for some one elses equipment. I do not bring loads home with me, period. I have had trailers vandelized in the past and the company I worked for did not ever mention anything about me paying for any of it, why, because the insurance is there responsibility. And yes I do have an attourney on retainer as should every truck driver now days.

 

If you have to except responsibilty for the equipment your working for the wrong company. If they can prove negelience thats something different. Thats is not a normal situation.

And he has own cases for me in the past. Any driver that deems himself as their attourney, is a fool. The company has a lawyer there is no reason for you not to have the same, in most cases they will meet with you for consultation for a reasonible fee, sometimes free. So go on sound like a macho man on line, because it's yo that is playing the fool. Plenty of driving jobs around, no reason to bend over to drive.
These companies have insurance on the tractor, trailer, and load, why would a driver be responsible for anything except negilence.
I had a trailer that was sideswipped while I was in a resturant having diner, The safety department wanted me to pay for part of the deductible, I did not pay them anything. I was first off, Off Duty, swcond I'm not responsible by law for their trailer, thats why they have insurance, and with the explaination they dropped it.
