I keep a old gear lube bottle filled with old drain oil.
2 or 3 times a week I oil the threads.
And keep them closed when not in use.

If your using screw type binders,I suggest using Never Sneeze,it comes with a brush, sticks like glue. For suicide binders, any kind of silicone based spray lube.Spray it on,wipe off the access.I wish they'd make something like that for my knees, lol.

Lucas 5th wheel/slider lube. Thick enough to not get washed off in the rain but won't stay aroind long enough to gunk things up. And you have 5th wheel lube. Two birds with one stone.

PJ1 Chain lube and PB Blaster.
If needed free up and clean with PB Blaster, then spray with PJ1 chain lube. Also use PB Blaster on the trailer winches. It is a penetrating oil, so it will wash off. The chain lube is more water resistant.

Take the screws out and put a pump or 2 of grease in each side then run them up tight and back out. Done for a year or 3 depending on if you run open deck or covered wagon. I keep a squirt oil can handy and give the clickers and threads a squirt as well as my winches every month. Mine are out in weather unless under tarped load always work well.

First, a video. It will explain why PB blaster is crap. I use seafoam penetrating spray. It’s available at auto stores and cheapest at my freightliner dealer.

Secondly, I keep my binders all the way out so they can dry when they get wet. If you keep them in or closed up, they stay wet for awhile. I lube them monthly.

Thats a good idea, i wish they would make some ratchet binders with zerks on each end so i could just hit em with a grease gun every once in awhile when there ratcheted closed... Might be a little messy but might not be to hard to make
