Did you log in/registerd to the FMCSA site as a part of the process of registering to the Clearinghouse?

I thought about trying to register without DOT number, but didn’t.

I’ve got a login.gov account, I just can’t get registered as administrator and gain access to the portal.

The people that handle my drug testing, are hosting a free class on how to register at their main office next week. I may just have to go to that, only problem is that their main office is 100 miles away.

The problem is when you can't remember the log in credentials to the FMCSA site. As a part of a registration, you need to log in there from within the Clearinghouse registration page.
When you try to reset your user name or password you need to answer the secret questions and even though you think you know the answers to the secret questions; it will tell you that the answers are not correct (there is no way I could not know them). That's where you get stuck. Calling FMCSA site tech support will give you an automated message announcing that due to a high volume of calls for this particular issue, they could not help you over the phone, providing you a link that does not work either.
At least on my PC, anyway.
I emailed their tech support but I would be surprised if the would respond to me soon or ever.

I remember that there was a check mark box that you click on when you register as a company Clearinghouse adminstrator.
I did not see it at first either.
Well, this definitely takes too much time and frustration.

if you are a company driver, when you are at the yard, do when you are there. stay on the clock, and have somebody in the office help you with it. my employer is doing thru UtliPro, only takes a minute or two.

Its not madatory unless your employer or future employer requires it. Im sure there is a insurance deal with it. My carrier required us to register or no job.

Yes any driver not on this list will NOT be legally hireable at the federal level by ANY trucking company or Motor Carrier of all kinds holding a DOT, MC number.
