The front differential finally came back from repair shop today.
Here is the input shaft. Snapped clean.
No broken pieces anywhere in the housing either.

Honestly its that kind of stuff they should be showing in driver training. Too many driver's don't understand how much torque is behind the go-pedal in low gear. Trying to lock in a locker while in a first gear wheel spin on a muddy surface will tear stuff up so easily.Shawn2130, magoo68, spsauerland and 3 others Thank this.

Im going with part failure.
If the lifter is intact, Id say the unit pump return spring failed.
Bad thing is the block is junk .......most likely.Shawn2130 and spsauerland Thank this.
