The Mack dump truck came in for both front wheels looking like it’s squatting under a overload.

After jacking up and using a pry bar, the wheels wobbled at the king pins....

First picture is the destroyed needle bearing.

Second is the new needle bearing and the third is the complete assembly.

The needle bearings ground themselves almost to powder size and gouged the bore pretty good.

Some sanding and honing after, the new bearing fits nice and snug.

Another broken MX13 EPA10 unit pump broken return spring/lifter retainer bolt snapped. #6 this time on the sister unit. Luckily, P/S was making oil from a bad air compressor bearing so compressor is out of way! Other technician on days got this one. I am getting to work on a real truck/engine today! KIMG2532.JPG

    Spsauerland: I’m guessing that looks like a 3406E in a kenworth. ;)

    Flint1 and spsauerland Thank this.

Sure is, older 5EK in a 96 W900B. Looks like you were having fun with kingpins on a CV713 Mack, been there, done that!

Spsauerland: I’m really liking the 3406E’s. Very reliable. I’m running a 6TS in a Ford.

I did have fun changing king pins in that Mack. My first time.

    It went well.

I didn’t know the actual name for this Mack. So it’s a CV713?

Seems like the Paccar engines should be retired to the scrap yard and replaced with any other brand of engines that would bolt in and connect the easiest.

It’s getting pretty ridiculous how they’re built.

All the parts look like they’re made to be in car engines. o_O

Actually, I prefer the MX over the Cummins if staying under 90,000lbs.
