I only seen one other. L8000 construction crane truck. Driver claimed he accidentally bumped it into Lo range at 70 mph on interstate. Broke at release bearing and sharpened like a pencil! Removed trans and they scrapped the truck. Never got to open the trans.

Busy lately! I had a good one for this thread a week or so ago on a service call. Didn't snap any pictures because trying to be quick to avoid to much attention. Short story, loaded dump truck lost a set of duals. Every stud sheered off, have no clue where the wheels went. Some rather sketchy jacking, new hub, wheels and had it back trucking. I was completely astonished that the truck traveled several hundred yards before he stopped. Upon trying to fill hub with some oil from the side plug I realized how he did it, power divider and diff lock where both engaged. Broken wiring to warning light. Had been driving that way for weeks!

 

Bet that was some good-smelling gear lube after all that heat!
