Probably one of those drivers with auto transmissions ;)

My father told me of one Volvo driver at a large carrier company he works at attempt to make the truck move. Just kept adding throttle (he forgot to release the brakes).

Boom! Snapped a u-joint at the company yard.

Likely had some explaining to do with the shop boss while his truck got towed to the bay. ;)

It gets better. This truck, literally 2 days after getting that air leak repaired, decided it would be funny to frag the high pressure fuel pump out of the blue, and send metal fragments through the entire rest of the system... I ended up getting sent to recover another one while mine's down.

Obviously, I don't have pictures... I noticed it sounded like it was chewing something up, and took it to the shop. They might have a couple good ones, tho

This engine stopped so hard it half sheared the flywheel bolts
Had very few hrs on an overhaul apparently they didn’t know you are supposed to line up the oil hole in the wrist pin bushing

3rd and 8th gear make a grinding noise and the truck won’t move…No kidding

One I looked at several months ago had a very auditable peck that stopped when I cracked number 6 fuel line. Coasting down hill no Jake when all hell broke loose. Once I got the bottom half of rod off the crank the journal was unhurt seemly. They said it was shut off instantly but did loose oil pressure as he killed it. I figure from debris flying around inside and getting between number 5 rod and the oil galley causing that thumb size hole

2 months was way longer than I thought it would last. I’m not sure if the rod broke due to wrist pin locking or if wrist pin is locked due to rod breaking. Either way I got plenty to keep me busy

Got home yesterday and a guy calls me says he wants me to listen to his truck. Drives it up in my driveway.........#3 rod must be a tough sob that’s all that was holding the 2 pieces together.
