Im not even going to attempt to repair this engine. Too many unknowns. Drop in with a warranty it will get.

My price may be slightly elevated but not far off once all said and done including all goodies, clutch, install kit ect. Engine alone is 30.

Yes, because I work at a stealership that automatically makes me a theif. You should come by sometime.

i replaced a Cummins 5.9 in a Ford pickup after it threw a rod through the block.

My boss let me keep the busted engine.

It can still run. On 5 cylinders

You get any further on that one? Did the rod bearing top halfs get pounded and fall out on their own? Any gall on the valve stems? How much oil was left in it when it came in?

    Goodysnap and Shawn2130 Thank this.

The oil is on the full mark and looks normal but due for a service. I pulled the stick, before I even turned the key. The oil filter was cut open with no evidence of metal in the pleats.

The head and oil pan are still on it. Waiting on customer approval at this point to proceed. Most likely wont tear it apart any further.

Paccar may just want this one back for engineering to see.

Heard the story of that happening on an old Cummins 350 855 small cam once after I saw a picture of the bent and split pushtubes. Supposed 3,000 rpm and full Jake with a dual inlet Switzer turbo. They said It still showed 15 psi manifold pressure when it was Jaking down the “hill” in western Montana before it happened. Uncle not happy with that guy but couldn’t fire him cause he was family and owned that half of the truck. Lol!

    2 different ones.

It blew out a yoke seal. Driver had all the lockers on and didn't quit til the truck did.

Thanks for the update. Any evidence of a top end oil flow issue? Id think over revving that bad woulda let atleast one rod come flying off the crank. Still thinking the valve guides will have a lot to say. Id love to dissect that pile.
