update. ! there is a Chinese micro relay made by Song Chaun (holly ####) located on starter enable circuit. replace that microrelay. there is suppression resistor inside of that microrelay and the resistor is burnt for sure. The Microrelay is located in Powertrain PDM. freightliner P/N 23-13265-010. Chinese P/N 871-1C-C-R1 (SOLD $5-8 ON EBAY, $20 AT DEALERS). keep spare of this realys in the truck , because they go in SAM chassis too(trailer turn signals circuits). After changing that relay I don't have no start issues. It sometimes clicks but no more 3 times.

    DoneYourWay Thanks this.

    Rolls Canardly here,
Had this problem and followed the advice listed above of just putting a button on it.
Been on there 2 years and no more click, click, click EVER. 15 dollar fix.
I also had the bad ground on frame thing going on; there are two that I am aware of,
one just behind the cab/batteries and one up by the air pump, on an (M-2), I got
introduced to the front one when the kid was starting and i saw sparks from it.
I cut ends and replaced and used stainless star washers with the teeth that bite in
on the inside and outside to make contact. The old guy used to say "you need a good
mechanical contact to make a good electrical contact." So true. So I grind the frame
and put a gob of the copper goop that makes corrosion stop on there
and tighten the heck out of it. Two years later and still good to go.
Yes, the solenoid is on firewall, drivers side' and got real tired of opening the hood,
jumping posts, even had it in gear once - and lucky it wasn't a foot-race to the clutch.
It stalled, or burped ,or somthin' and I got to tell myself again how brilliant I am.

    Happy Motoring,
Rolls down one hill, Canardly get up the next.

Cascadia owners before replacing the starter with new one do this test. put piece of wires between bolted terminals of IMS ( starter relay solenoid) . if starters starts without clicking then just replace the IMS ( starter relay solenoid) P/N 10511414 . If it clicks then replace the starter . its little hard to replace the IMS . You will need to remove big plastic splash guard.
