I've been lucky with the tablet so far. It hasn't taken a #### yet. I actually like this system way better than Omnitracs. I've been doing good man, staying busy best I can. Sitting here in Jersey emptying out as we speak. They gave me driver of the month for May lol. Didn't find that out til earlier this week. It's better late than never I suppose. Got to play in the snow already in Colorado. It snowed Monday when I was out there. I'm glad I wasn't there when this monstrous storm gave it the business these last couple days. What's going on in your world these days?

Not much, just doing the same nighttime linehaul thing. Glad you’re doing good.

Well we crossed the finish line on the closing of our house a while back. We finally will be moving this weekend to a small town just outside of Texarkana.

I haul tyson trailers for a 3rd party carrier, w2, 70 cpm is average at best these days especially if you have over 2 years verified experience. honestly I would not live in a truck dealing with this job if I was paid any less, but that's just me, there are guys who settle, and that's fine but that's there decision. I drive a truck to benefit me, the company benefits from my work but In the end I do it for my gain, it's all about how much you can negotiate before starting, that's why there are people who get paid 10 times more money then others do, because they use leverage.

Congratulations on closing in on that house! Man that was a long time coming. Closer to the grand babies, warmer weather, you're winning all around!

I don't know if 70 cpm is "average at best." That's actually considerably above average. Majority of drivers ain't making that driving OTR long haul. You're one of the few and far between, and most companies ain't gonna allow for negotiating. I know our company can come off as a take it or leave it kind of company. Do you travel everywhere pulling those Tyson trailers?

I ran across a car hauler that worked for a company out of Michigan. He was telling me about his company. He said he was making close to a buck a mile on a w-2. I couldn't believe it so I looked up their website and sure enough it showed starting pay as like .93 a mile. Don't remember exact figure but it was over .90 a mile. Said top drivers were doing 150,000 a year. I do believe they must require drivers to run Canada though cuz they require you to have a passport. It's sounds like really good money but I don't do Canada. I've been up there about three times but I just didn't care for it at all.

I've never had the pleasure of going to Canada in a truck. I imagine going through customs could be a pain. Car hauling is definitely a special type of trucking. I don't want that much responsibility lol

Yeah I've been up there but when I was there I just always felt quite a bit out of my element. Customs back then seemed like a pain in the rear to me. Had to pay a toll to get back into the states. That never made sense to me I mean I'm a citizen here but I gotta pay to get back into my own country, come on, really!!! Got my truck searched by customs. At least they didn't tear everything up like all the horror stories I had heard about from other drivers. All your paperwork had to be in order for the load you were bringing back which involved some other agency up there. Can't really remember how to explain that part of it, it's been a long time ago. Yea I'll never willingly mess with going there again.
