Don't be afraid to idle your truck if it's so hot the apu won't keep up.

I can't guarantee it'll work but if ya ever need to just set the trailer brake. Leave tractor brake released. Bump cruise up an see if the newer trucks will idle without shutting down. If that don't work chock the tires an release both brakes an bump up the cruise. We've had trucks there that would idle one way or the other. Our idle shutdown is turned off in our computer. They should all be like that cuz the apu won't always keep up in extreme heat.

Oh I have definitely idled at times. Sometimes even the ac has issues fighting this heat. The heat index in Savannah reached 106....talk about serious

Leaving that tractor brake released keeps it idling in mine. As hot as it is down here, it really hasn't been much relief in the north either....its abnormally hot in northern states

Sweaty...holding it in the warehouse beside the shop. Two fans to blow around the hot air and help the sweat evaporate. The people here are classy though and I sense that they're really rooting for us to succeed. Still waiting on drug test results and truck assignments. Hopefully we can all head out by noon Wednesday. I'm new to reefers and elogs, so I sense a learning curve coming. Hopefully Rob and my dispatcher will be patient with me. Hope all y'all are on the move and staying cool.

Niceness. You've just about reached the finish line of orientation. You'll like the elog too. It's super easy. They will work with you on it. You are right about one thing, they do want the drivers to succeed. You'll get all the opportunities in the world to make money. This company to me, is meant for those who run. I'm sitting here in Hazelwood about to drop off now, a load of sugar. Are you going to head home first to stock your truck up?

Metacoyote and Lumper Humper Thank this.
