It's really only Larry that says that. Anyone else in the shop dont really care. I have a little strap in which I tie it to the bar in the back. Larry wants then brought back so they can be recapped. He will tell the shop people to throw it on the cat walk, so you can bring it back. It's a little annoying but I dont really trip too much about it since we get by the yard fairly regularly. They should invest in one of those cradles to carry a spare like some of the other trucks have.

If it's all the way blown then you don't have to worry about bringing it back, but if it's one where the tread is just worn, he will want it back

I agree. If we HAVE to do it a tire cradle would be helpful.

Hell yeah thatbis a Climate classic there. In about to drop in Valmeyer, IL then deadhead to Roninson, IL for a load to Hershey in Palmyra. It looks like I will get a late week surge in my miles this week. They said they will pay me local pay for the drop in Valmeyer since I picked it up from Craftsmen. I'm guessing the local pay is better than the mileage for one or both sides. I'm known it's a favor. I dont even care about this one. The load to Palmyra and probably a back haul from there has me amped up lol

I'm a little behind. Not been on here much this week. Anyway wanted to let ya know on the older trucks the 670's they have an exhaust bracket brace behind your cab. If ya bring a tire back stand it up between the frame rails and strap top of tire to that angled brace. The only one that will make ya bring it back is larry and he doesn't always remember to tell ya to. When you get a newer truck they no longer have that bar as our exhaust is underneath. I tried strapping a tire to the parallel grab bar on back of the cab once but it scuffed the paint. I showed that to chris in the shop an told him i didn't wanna be held responsible for damaging the paint he told me from now on just leave the old tire behind. Nate asked me once to bring one back an i told him i no longer had anywhere to put a tire and he was fine with leaving it. Since that one occurrence I've always left the tire behind and no one has said a word to me about it. I guess if ya absolutely had to on the newer trucks ya could lay one flat on the catwalk an strap it down. I'd be wondering about my airlines catching it tho. Anyway hope all that mile long story is of some assistance.

I see the brace now that you mention it. That's doable if they really want the tire corpse. If (when) I have a flat I'll ask them if I absolutely have to bring it back and take it from there. Thank you for such a detailed response.
