Another place that's really good is that pasta house restaurant over there on 47 where ya turn to go to silgan. Don't remember the exact name of it. It's a little on the pricey side but it's really good an ya get plenty as far as portion sizes.

You've got a point there. I was definitely in the right place at the right time to get those loads....the funny thing is, 3 times I've gone to Phoenix and once to Ogden. I had to use recaps on 2 of those trips! The first time out to Phoenix I barely had enough to go there and back, and honestly it made me change the way I run. I started running with more balance so I'll always have availability should I have to do recaps. I'm sitting here in Aurora waiting to off load. Trying to see if I can get lucky and off load way before 2 pm.

I keep forgetting about them. One driver had a grilled chicken and shrimp pasta he ordered from there and it smelled and looked delicious man. They're on my short list to try definitely. I found out yesterday that Sugarfire BBQ by the Craftsmen will be closed until further notice. The floods got to them. I went there about 2 weeks ago and ate the rack of ribs. My BBQ fix will have to be on hold for a while lol

Yea the 1st load i ever remember running out west really far for these guys was a coke load to south of salt lake. 1st truck i had was 868 or 878. Something like that. Got to top of mountain before dropping into salt lake. Started losing coolant from the plastic top coolant reservoir. Got unloaded then messed around with volvo in salt lake cuz larry wanted them to look at it. They drug their behinds too long an i ended up buying a case of coolant at the hook an nursing it back to union cuz i had to get a strolling to get to idaho in time to get taters. Ran outta hours an had to run on a recap to get back. Took an extra day to make it back. Back on paper logs i was always good at running recaps. Not so much on e logs. I always end up with a short day starting out on the recap.

Something I’ve always wondered when people run recaps, do you just sleep your 10 and roll or do you try to run the same time of day if possible? I’ve had dispatchers want me to constantly be running recaps which I found would have me day after day sleeping earlier and earlier. My body just isn’t wired to constantly be changing sleep time lol. Idk, maybe it’s just me.

Not necessarily. You have 24 hours to work whatever you have available. The load assignment dictates how I'll run it. It depends on what time it has to get there. I'll definitely sleep in every chance I get.

Good deal. How many miles a day do you usually get running recaps anyway?
