It really depends on the run. I usually break my runs up. I do that whether I'm on recaps or not. Very seldom do I run 600 plus miles in a day. If I do, there's a reason behind it. If they give me an 800 mile run and it's a 40 mile deadhead, I'll add the numbers together, and divide it by 2. Most days, I won't run more that 500 some odd miles in a day. Some days it's less but I do it that way to keep availability.

I had noticed that in my logging too. When they give my Friday load, and if it delivers on a Monday, I started leaving about 400 to 500 to drive. If I could park there or real close by, I'd go the distance and start that Monday. My game plan was to always leave at least 6 or 7 hours to get back. It really depends on the loads..us running so many of the same loads makes trip planning ungodly easier. Meanwhile in Platteville, CO I am reloading milk. Got here super early for a 7 pm. It's gonna be a long night across Kansas.Professor No-Name, 57 model and mdmgolfin Thank this.

There’s a SugarFire in Washington, MO. I don’t know if you guys have a company car or anything at the terminal you can take, it’s not really a truck friendly area. It’s on Front Street right on the river.bryan21384, Professor No-Name, 57 model and 1 other person Thank this.

It's easier for me cuz the wife an i run team. So when one of us runs outta hours an has to run a recap then the person with the most hours eats up the day shift to get as close to midnight when the other gains hours to run. Like at pa today i had 14 minutes left on my 70. So the mrs took over after her 10 when we were empty an ran to reload point an then here to sunbury oh. Left us enough time for a shower an I'll be off an running at midnight with the hours i get back. Then we just keep repeating the process till we either reset or go home. Sleep is sometimes difficult cuz our schedules are constantly changing but this is trucking an i was taught to run outlaw way back when an the motto was sleep here an there whenever ya can an besides han you'll get all the sleep ya need after your dead. An like @bryan21384 said for sure when you're solo the load appointments definitely dictate how ya run. With refrigerated freight ya can pick up an deliver almost anytime day or night in a lotta instances.57 model, mdmgolfin and bryan21384 Thank this.

I am at sunbury oh getting ready to start my day. We reloaded 22 rolls of paper at johnsonburg pa. It was 35 miles or so north of 80 at mm 97. Very twisty, windy an hilly. Load is for r r donnelly in owensville mo. We'll probably drop it today an go onto something else.57 model, mdmgolfin and bryan21384 Thank this.

Depends on how many hours ya have available per day. In a perfect world ya would always log 9.5 hrs every day an ya would not run outta hours but it's not realistic to do that on e logs. On paper ya could manipulate the log to do pretty much whatever ya wanted. Course ya had to be good at being creative back then.dwells40, 57 model, mdmgolfin and 1 other person Thank this.

They got one not too far in Wentzville too. Those Sugarfire locations don't have the most room in their lots. If I were bobtailing to Fricks and had time, I could probably get away with eating at the one in Washington. That food fills me up something serious. I would usually eat there if I know km taking a 10 lolmotocross25, 57 model, Professor No-Name and 1 other person Thank this.

That is the definition of a broker load load lol. When you gotta pick up heavy #### on a twisty lane, you know that's CH Robinson-esque. I'm taking a 30 in Colby now. Pick up in Platteville was for 7 pm but I got loaded kinda early. They set delivery for 3 pm. It'll be 6 thirty or 7 tomorrow when they get this lol57 model, Professor No-Name and mdmgolfin Thank this.
