It storms everywhere. Severe weather is expected here til the weekend. It's been crazy mild here the last couple of weeks. How often do you have to wash out the hopper?

Depends on product you're gonna be hauling. Right now as long as i keep hauling corn or if i haul gluten corn feed i don't need a washout. If i happen to switch to organic wheat or other products i need a washout. A lot of shippers dictate whether you want they want to wash out or not. Some may require proof it was washed out. It really depends upon the products and what can be cross-contaminated and what can't bebryan21384 and mdmgolfin Thank this.

I found out from a buddy yesterday that if You Haul popcorn that's all that trailer can haul. It can't have hauled any other product ever before so it's just dedicated to hauling popcorn only.bryan21384, wulfman75 and mdmgolfin Thank this.

What's up everyone? I am delivering granules in mt Vernon In in morning an heading home. Got thru the house for a 10 hr break Wednesday night. Coulda went home Thursday but boss offered me a load paying 900 bucks. He told me i didn't have to take it. But I couldn't see turning down that kinda money. Come outta Chicago on 57 today. Roads were wet an had areas with snow an ice pack built up. Had lots of spray coming off the roads but there were a ton of vehicles in the ditches between kankakee an the 250 mile marker. Crazy stuff.

Wow that's new information. I wonder what it is about popcorn that dedicates a trailer to that particular productProfessor No-Name and mdmgolfin Thank this.

Geez man......folks driving too fast for the weather conditions. Yet those same folks would come south and brag about how they're used to it. They would leave out the info that they ended up in the ditch lolProfessor No-Name and mdmgolfin Thank this.

Ahhh man, you ain't prying man..I took it as a check up post lol. Recovery is going nicely. To be honest I feel like I can go back on the road now. I felt like I could go back to work before I even left the hospital. Once they flushed that fluid out of me, I felt like my old self. It's weird having to read nutrition facts on everything now, but that's not to say I haven't had a cheat day here and there. Lol. I'm not cleared yet as to when I can return, and I don't have the slightest clue when. I am thinking I'll be down at least 1 more month.Professor No-Name, Lumper Humper, Speedy356 and 1 other person Thank this.

I imagine cuz it's food grade and they want no chance of product contamination. Example, I had the trailer washed out thoroughly in ottawa. Even went down road with tarp open to dry it out. Loaded granules. Unloaded today an seen a few stray kernels of corn coming out at the end. So contamination is possible even with a washout.motocross25 and bryan21384 Thank this.
