If it can wait till daytime, I would say call Larry in shop. Usually he will ask ya to send a picture to him an then he will advise on where to get it fixed. I don't think craftsman does tires. After hours it's your call. But i wouldn't rack up road service calls for a tire. Limp it to a shop an get it fixed. If it's a time issue for you then notify maintenance in daytime and send a message to dispatch bout the trailer location an what it needed. Obviously try not to leave it for the next guy. If in doubt about how you are handling maintenance issues, ask someone in charge how they prefer ya deal with stuff.

Delivering in O’Fallon right now - was just a short little final mile run since I was waiting on recaps anyways. Definitely not going to call roadside for it lol, just annoyed that so far I’m batting 100% on tire violations with every trailer I’ve picked up.
I don’t have a problem pulling the trailer, but I don’t want someone else to have to deal with it when it gets dropped, so it’ll have to be fixed between now and then. I’ve definitely pulled a lot worse when working for a small carrier where every dollar counts and all repairs possible got done at home
Starting to understand where that 20% out of service rating on FMCSA came from though. Everyone loves that little green light popping up on their PrePass and then their laziness gets caught.

You're right. That happens at every large company, or any company that has mega capabilities. Most drivers are on the "team of me." They don't set the next driver up, or do what's in the best interest of the company. It's a microcosm of our society though. Society wide nobody does what's best for the greater good. It's all about individual rights, pleasures, achievements, goals etc. There folks that won't even do what's best for their own family. I always get repairs fixed right before I drop it at a customer, because that's when you'll have the most time to work with. Very rare do I call roadside. I'll take it Pilot or come to the yard, or whichever shop of I can make it. I do my very best to avoid TA/Petro because they eat up way too much time. If it's a lot that needs to be done to a trailer, send dispatch a message when you drop it at Craftsmen so that one of the local guys, or someone else can get it to the yard. I do when it needs multiple tires. They will let the shop know. Last week, I detoured off my route and came to the yard to get this hub seal fixed. I tried at Love's, but they didn't have the part to stop the oil and air from leaking. I didn't think to go shut the valve off. Got it fixed 1st thing and left it at Coke afterwards. They told me 7 min pretrip, and 15 min post trip. 15 min for loading/unloading. I never do the full 15 min for fuel if it don't take that long. They did tell me once that you gotta stay on duty if you get a cash advance because the transaction on the fuel isn't complete til after you get the cash advance.Professor No-Name, 57 model and Thrasher28 Thank this.

That air blowing out is caused by a bad part inside. It's called either a thermal or thermite plug. Can't remember which, but most road shops can't find the part or Theyll just replace the "air T" an say that was the problem.bryan21384 Thanks this.

I seen one climate truck today. They were headed into denver. I was going east. Seen part of the old potato routing today. Came down 287 through Eads. Even stopped at the love's. Gotta pick up here in Spfld CO in morning. Headed to Catoosa Oklahoma. Dump then reload just a few blocks away an then head to South Dakota.
