Lol you must've traveled down 44. You use the Jake brake lever on the right hand side to get out of eco mode. Using the Jake brake makes it down shift earlier. I hope you didn't get the mattress with the springs in it. I had one like that in my last truck and I had to get the foam thing to go on top for comfort. You came from Magnum, funny thing...because I nearly went to Magnum before Climate took me lol. Just curious, what was Magnum like?

Lol they didn't fix the landing gear when you got back to the terminal? I'm sitting at Sauer in New Century. I dropped that back haul from Jersey at Craftsmen. I'll be picking up Coke in Lenexa, KS tomorrow for Charleston, IL. I am not sure if I'm dropping it or not. Either way, I'm bobtailing home to go to the doctor Friday. There's an empty in Memphis at a now former customer that I'll be reloading

Had no idea it was that weak til I was just walking around, piddling, doing a post trip and tapped it with my boot and a whole corner of it dropped :D I always thought there'd be a more elaborate mounting method than just a half inch of rolled metal, but I guess it makes sense thinking about it.

Lenexa to Charleston shouldn't be too bad of a run. Make sure you bring icy hot for after that bobtail run home. I had no idea they had contracted customers in Memphis, but that makes sense being close to STL. I think I've only passed through Memphis once so far here

I never kept a truck for long when I was there especially after the wife an I started teaming. My 1st was like yours with high miles. Then i got a newer used one which had been laid over at one point. They messed up the drain for the under bunk hvac stuff an it soaked the whole floor pan. Then back into another almost ready to trade truck. After that got one with, if memory serves, it had around 30k on it. Shortly after that we started team driving an got a new one every year. Had the computer puke in one of the new ones an they put us in one with about the same miles on it. To be quite honest I got sick of switching trucks. It was always a 4 to 6 hr job followed by an immediate Dispatch to run.

You can double downshift anytime you want to as long as you haven't selected manual lock on the gear pad. Just have your jake set on high 3 and bump it down after ya let up on the throttle. You will see a B pop up on your lower screen display and you will feel the extra downshift along with the higher rpm rev from the jake braking ya down.

You all are life savers lol. I'm so used to running without the Jake unless I need it after getting used to freightliner, which cancels the cruise with the Jake on any settings.

Tried it out today on US-69 and it started downshifting at 62-64 depending on the grade.

The eastern half of I-44 MO should be a little less brutal now:)
