Yeah, that's how the last few were for me -- I should probably plan ahead a little more and keep a couple plastic totes for the next time.
I'm hoping being a solo that they'll just let me run this one out til it's due for trade in again. All the truck's are basically identical and probably will be for a few more years, knowing Volvo. I'd rather just get comfy

We bought a twin memory foam mattress in a box at Walmart. Ya just unroll it an let it sit overnight to fully expand. I just moved it from truck to truck. So every truck I got out of got whatever mattress was in the truck we were moving into. 1st time the old mattress went in the dumpster. I think one might have been kept for a doggie bed at home if I remember correctly.bryan21384 Thanks this.

Found the def Guage. Til yall pointed it out I thought it was some sort of regen filter Guage or something. Took me a minute to see the droplets and realize that the line on the bottom meant liquid lol. Why not just put "def"? Lol
I tried the Jake on 3 downshift trick, and it does downshift, but the truck won't pull past 1300-1400 rpm. Even if I lock it in manually. Kinda defeats the purpose. Of course, I'm probably doing something wrong lol.
Question time: I ask this cuz they didn't go over this in orientation-on the trip sheets it asks for tire pressures and truck/trailer condition. Do we have to fill that stuff out? Don't all our trailers have the auto-inflate? Doesn't that make it a bit difficult to check air pressure?Professor No-Name and bryan21384 Thank this. -
Yeah, all the trailers have the auto inflate. I never fill out that part on the trip envelope. Once I hook up to the trailer, if repairs are needed, I just call and get em done. If I'm able to come by the yard (my preferred method), I'll get it fixed there. It'll take a bit of time to get used to the Volvos. It took me time to get used to it the first time I got in one at a previous company. Once you figure them out, they'll slowly grow on youProfessor No-Name Thanks this.

I even started buying those to use at home. Those spring mattresses are not where it's at. Even the kids love those foam mattressesProfessor No-Name Thanks this.

It won't rev super high on slow rolling hills. Take it down a steep grade like la veta pass in 9th gear an she'll hit 2000 on the tach no problem.

She is gonna come out with me next week to see this type of work up close. It's really not so much the work I guess, but this kinda trucking is a lot closer to old school trucking. This is a lot different than how things worked at climate. We may be out a couple weeks since I gotta load in Iowa tuesday morning an deliver flagstaff Az on Thursday. May not get reloaded till Friday. Freight from out there probably won't bring me directly back.
-
Well just found out this is my first time getting a drop and hook to reload out of Coke in Dallas
sadly, this is not the best time. I guess we'll find out at 07:00 if this is a mobile trailer repair deal or there was a misscommunication. I gave a fair heads up, so at least I won't get yelled at either way lol
Update: they booked another live load from Coke for me, so someone will end up with a preloaded trailer today. Works out better for everyone

Going down a grade isn't the issue. It's trying to pull a hill that is a pita.Professor No-Name Thanks this.
