I haven't been to Arkansas since my first load down to H-Town. I know you're excited for that I-40 run today

I had a bit of a debacle this weekend -- Load info said to bring to Interco in Madison, IL ASAP. I checked business hours online and couldn't find anything and assumed that meant 24/7. Got to Mt. Vernon Saturday evening and ran it the rest of the way Sunday morning thinking it would be a delivery and then a short reload to Fulton or something. Ended up missing out on a 34 and a fresh 70 -- I reckon I should've double checked with dispatch being a Sunday, but just assumed 24/7 since it's a scrap facility and they said ASAP. Oh well. Ended the week with 3100 miles and decent recaps for this week, so no big deal.
Just delivered at Lanter in Dallas and now headed to pick up a preloaded trailer from the syrup plant (maybe, they sometimes like to live load them anyways lol). Delivers in Salem, MO tomorrow. Works out a little better than Saint Charles since I'm on recaps anyways.Professor No-Name and bryan21384 Thank this. -
Oh yeah that Madison scrap yard is a mess. They never put the hours on the load info for some reason. Sometimes I've dropped those loads at Bailey's. That place is definitely not among my favorites to go to, and it isn't the easiest back.
Oh yeah I was excited to take that load. I went home for the night. #### may as well sleep in my own bed given the chance. I got up and hit the highways about 8 this morning. I'm camped out in Greenville so I'll be ready to roll with once emptyProfessor No-Name, mdmgolfin and Thrasher28 Thank this. -
Heck yeah, always nice being able to park onsite or close by. Saves a lot of stress with the 'what ifs' in the morning. I haven't been to Greenville yet for a delivery. I've only passed through once
My day turned into a bit of a debacle again lol. Pre tripped the pre loaded trailer and all was good. Great tires, the nicer one piece hub caps, good brakes, side skirts well secured, etc. Got 250 miles down the road to Pryor, OK and a nice gentleman waved me down to let me know my trailer brake lights weren't working. Well, no big deal I thought, probably just a loose connection. Did the usual spread the pins a tad and fold up some paper to tighten the fit on the pigtail. No luck. Replaced all 6 or 7 light control fuses, ABS fuse, trailer brake light fuse, etc. No luck. Pulled apart the 7 way connector and found the brake wire and ABS wire pulled out of their 'slot'. I don't pull the wire when dropping a trailer, so I guess someone did in the past and it slowly loosened them over time until they finally pulled out all the way. Tried to work with the terrible permanent crimp style connectors the pigtail came with and had no luck. Decided I'd just eat the 100 on a pigtail and then remembered volvos don't have the rear cab plug in like most trucks, so the short truck stop ones won't work. Ended up having to do a hack job with the cheapest tools imaginable to cut and strip the wires to put on a new 7 way connector. It doesn't sound hard, and it's not for someone with a higher IQ than me
but it ended up being a pain and terribly done.
All the lights work, so I guess it got the job done. Downside is, I have very little faith it'll survive to the delivery and then to the shop to get properly done by a tech
I would've just ran to the Speedco in Big Cabin, but my luck here has been so bad that I worry they'll start to blame me for however much has gone wrong. At least this way, they can't say I didn't make an effort to save em money. Should be an easy fix once it gets to the shop.
Its been a mental roller coaster the last two months, to say the least, but that is trucking after all.bryan21384, dwells40 and Professor No-Name Thank this. -

You don't have to eat that money. Just let dispatch know what ya spent on parts for the repairs and turn in the receipts with your trip envelope. Make a note in miscellaneous on the trip envelope trlr# such an such repairs and put the amount spent down. They will reimburse you!!Thrasher28, bryan21384 and dwells40 Thank this. -
Yep, there is a scooters coffee shop on that corner now.bryan21384, Lumper Humper and dwells40 Thank this.

Don't forget to send in the receipts!!! Let me help you with that mental roller coaster: take a deep breath and relax lol. You're with a company that has camaraderie and won't let you drive messed up equipment. You won't ever have to come out of pocket for repairs. Big Cabin would have got you fixed up, it just would have taken some time lol. If you ever have questions about the hours of a load, like what you alluded to in the debacle with your Madison, IL load, don't hesitate to ask us here or send dispatch a message. They know their customers back and front. I had a 2 stop beer load once, 1st stop delivered in Kansas City and the other in St. Louis. Got KC off, but the problem was the date for STL delivery was for the next day. I shot them a message asking what the chances were that I could get the other stop off the same day KC came off. Robert said pretty good, asked for my ETA, made a phone call to the STL customer, and worked his magic. Sometimes they can do some work for you, sometimes you may have to be patient. One thing is consistent, you'll always be in a prime position to succeed.Thrasher28, mdmgolfin, dwells40 and 2 others Thank this.

Hey @bryan21384 , I loaded yesterday right next to Peyton's in Bluffton, In. When your backed into the dock to unload at Peyton's an ya look across an can see the silo's an cooling shed, is where I went. It was the next facility just south of Peyton's. We drove by an the Mrs. was a wondering if we'd see any Climate trucks staged in the lot. I looked but didn't see anyone around there.
bryan21384, mdmgolfin and Thrasher28 Thank this.
