Do you use the Beacon for a hopper washout or do you have to go somewhere that specializes in hoppers?

Associated Wholesale Grocers, like the one in Kansas City, but Goodlettsville is one of their locations

Appreciate the heads up. I've only ever been in and out of the Tyson plant in Goodlettsville and didn't know anywhere close besides that packed Love's in White House

They ended up replacing the tire on this trailer. The picture didn't really do it justice for how bad the tire was wearing lol. Took 10 minutes, so it was easy in and out. Only 20 miles longer to get a tire replaced AND avoid I-70 from Wentzville to STL? Thats a win, win, win to me. They ended up telling me to keep running the brakes. I always thought the wear indicator was a lot closer to 1/4" than it actually measured with their gauge. Whoops. The tire needed to go so wasn't a complete waste of a trip. The regs. say 1/4" inch OR to the wear indicator, so I always just assumed the wear indicator was 1/4". I know DOT just uses a simple gauge tool, so I guess I won't worry about the indicator step as long as it measures 1/4. As long as it's legal within the common industry standard and not based on the fineprint of the green bible, that's fine with me. I'm starting to get an idea of what they deem needing replaced as far as hubs, tires, brakes, tire damage, etc., so I shouldn't have to harass Larry or make as many shop stops now.

Jarred called me telling me to make sure I ran my clock so I could make sure I could pickup in Louisville at 10am Monday. Was an odd reason to make first contact with him, but he was friendly to me on the phone. The ball is in AWG's court for that one lol.

Hope everyone has a good weekend! I'm definitely ready for a couple days on two wheels after 7 weeks out. Has been a much better experience the last couple months compared to the first few weeks. That adjustment phase gets a little rough

B926BF83-8D8B-4B52-A802-A56974AA826A.jpeg This is where I washed out in Memphis when I was hoppering. I’ve used em end dumping too. That Streakin’ Beacon won’t touch a hopper after meat and bone meal. At least they wouldnt me after blood meal.

Beacon won't wash out hoppers at all as far as I've been told. Thx for the tip.

Anyone running a microwave in their truck? I'm having trouble finding one that's not a rinky-dink pos that'll fit in this ridiculously small hole volvo gave us for one. If you've got one, I'd love to know the brand/size/wattage of it.

I bought a cheap 700 watt one at Walmart. Used it for several years at climate. Plus we carried a coffee pot, crock pot, and an electric skillet with us. Momma cooked full meals up on the weekend for us. We have one in the house too. Just looked at it but don't see a brand name on the front. 30 to 50 bucks price range at Walmart. I still use the microwave in the truck that I am in now. It works great.

Gotta always call around an make sure the place will do a hopper washout. Also, sometimes gotta make sure they have detergents an acid in case ya got something in the trailer that a normal water rinse out won't get out. A lotta places only do or only have the ability to just wash outs with water only. Blue Beacons will not do hopper washouts or end dump washouts. They might do end dumps if ya have a barn door gate.

What's this what seems to be quite frequent calls from Jarred all about. I never dealt with the guy but one time when I worked at climate. I had Robert an Travis for my dispatch team. They were really great fellas to work with. The more I dealt with them, the less I had to deal with anyone else. Other than the 3 safety people, I had ABSOLUTELY ZERO USE for anyone else in the office. Actually had a couple people in the office that I simply couldn't stand. Personally, the next time that dude called my phone, I'd tell him, hey bro I've got a dispatcher so have them communicate specific freight demands to me since it's their specific job an all. JMO ya understand but I just don't put up with that particular nonsense very well.
