Yeah, I'm not sure why he called me to basically tell me to get to a pickup on time lol, but he was friendly enough about it. I think it was his way of indirectly saying "please don't miss this BS 4am appointment". Idk. Ended up spending 4 hours at AWG and 4 hours in Louisville after getting put as a work in. Showed up to AWG an hour early, so they couldn't blame me lol. 18 hour day is complete and made it to Edwardsville with 12 minutes to spare. Definitely a bit wore out after today.

Picking up a preloaded trailer at Baily tomorrow and running down to Irving for a Wed. 10am delivery, so should be a laid back trip tomorrow. I requested home time for this coming weekend before they even authorized me to route through the house on the way to Goodlettsville. I'm hoping they'll still honor it.

How was the run to Memphis? I wasn't sure if the Beacon did hipper washout but @motocross25 suggested the one I was thinking about anyway. That's actually a really good place to get a truck wash too.

Jarred had called me last week concerning my hometime request for a doctor's appt. I ended up rescheduling, but the only reason he called was because Travis was out of work one or two days last week. Had some sort of stomach virus or something. Jarred was nice to me too. He was slick poking fun at Travis having the runs lol.

They will. In 6 years there, I was never denied or screwed out of a hometime request.

Dang you had a long ### day. You must have went to get that peanut butter in Louisville. I certainly like that load as a short haul. It don't matter which location, AWG always seems to take a minimum 4 hrs lol. They'll honor your hometime request. You just so happened to run through KY this past weekend. They won't hold that against you like other companies try to do.

This weekend was a bit challenging one. It's my 3rd straight week without a 34. I reloaded Coke in Dallas last Friday, blew a drive tire, but I caught it before it shredded to pieces. The truck started driving funny a d I could hear the pieces of the tire coming apart under the truck. Then the tires underneath got loud as hell, I told the wife I'm about to blow a tire lol. Luckily the TA in Mount Vernon, MO was 8 miles up the road. Side note, I went to the brand new one there. That is one of the nicest TAs I've ever been to. The lot is huge, and the shop and the store is huge. I ended up dropping at Craftsmen and picking up Baily's for Houston. Had to take an empty there but it was ½ full of reefer fuel and it was dirty. A little extra work to get that done but made it happen. Though for some reason, I got routed to Houston like I was going to Dallas. I thought at first glance it was an odd routing with a fuel stop in Joplin. I kept wondering why the miles weren't making sense. They're paying me for 789 miles but the route they wanted me to take was 44, 69, 75, 45. That's like 880 or so. I ended up calling an audible on that routing and fuel stop. I went 55, US 67, 30, US. 59 with fuel in Benton, AR. That's usually the routing. I'm unsure why they went with the other way. If I had not looked at that closely, I would've messed my clock up worse than it already is. I got to Baily's in Houston this morning, off loaded and reloaded there with a 3 stop local Houston run. After doing that, I was reminded why I prefer OTR to local driving. I can't imagine driving locally in Houston. That place can test your patience, and it gets confusing with the million and 1 loops and highways. I'm sitting in Orange taking a 10 so I could reload rubber in the am for Mount Vernon, IL

Yea I got washed out there. Was rather impressed at how clean it came out considering the guy only used a garden hose. Wish I woulda had the time, I would've had my tanks cut an polished. Had to bust but to make my reload point. It was a good run. My load came off surprisingly quicker than the other trucks there. I made it up to kingdom city mo. Got 400 miles left for Wednesday delivery in Nebraska. Gonna take it easy tomorrow.

They routed us that way to houston a few times. I never could figure that out. I mean yea it made sense from say up at wright city but never from bailys. I always just did like you did an used the normal fuel stops for running it via little rock.

A day in the trenches loading cotton seed. I raked her down twice an managed to get almost 24 ton on. Got a little greedy with that last bucket an had a heck of a time getting the tarp to roll.

Man your truck is gorgeous. So that was a 48000 lb load, does that still keep you under 80k in a hopper, or do you have to carry permits?

Even from Wright City I'd always go through Poplar Bluff. I think having to deal with Houston and Dallas in one run is borderline abuse lol. The combination of Little Rock and Houston is much easier than the aforementioned combination.

Running without a 34 gets a little rough here, I've noticed. Lots of 6-800 mile runs, which is good for fresh hours, but doesn't work out great when you only have a few hours left on your clock after the run. I always thought their routing was computer generated using some system, but I guess they really do type it out every time. They gave me a Murfreesboro fuel stop for a Goodlettsville delivery. I figured it was aafe to audible that one and save a 70 mile round trip lol. My one Houston trip was out of Wright City and they routed me through Little Rock as well. So much more pleasant than 69/75. Maybe it was just the new company positivity, but the red lights seemed far less irritating lol. And Little Rock to Texarkana is usually fairly easy on 30.

What do they pay for local runs like you did? I know I got some kind of accessory pay the one time I did a short run, but I didn't know how it worked on something with 3 stops. Houston isn't the worst if you arrive before dawn and leave straight off I-10. It's terrible if you have to cross through the city a few times like you did lol. At least you got a pretty good reload today.
