I always ran down La Veta pass in 9th at 45 mph. Never had any problems an never had to use the brakes very much. That approach always seemed to work out really well for most any downgrades I ever ran at Climate. A few years ago I was always able to use 10th gear, but after they got the 2nd round of 760's in an went to the dual turbos volvo changed something in the gear ratios in the name of better fuel efficiency. After that 10th gear wouldn't hold the truck back enough. I found that out going from flagstaff to phoenix on the maiden voyage of a new truck. Smoked the brakes halfway down through the 18 miles of downgrades.

I've been to that Mclane before. It was a really small place right?mdmgolfin and bryan21384 Thank this.

That's crazy. That's got to be illegal, right? I mean, a truly shifted load is one thing and reason to reject, but lying about it to get out of working has to be illegal? In a market like this, imagine an O/O finding out they have to shell out money to get it reworked and then reschedule a delivery 3 days later just to get a load off. That could be the different between a mortgage getting paid on time or not. I've heard horror stories about water pallets getting rejected from a minor shift and produce getting rejected from very tiny temperature discrepancies.Professor No-Name and bryan21384 Thank this.

I'm sure of it!!!! Gotta be illegal. My appt was for 9 and I didn't get a door til midnight. That would've been insult to injury for real.
Yeah, it's a small one you gotta back up off the street. Seems like I went to a much bigger one in Temple once before.Thrasher28, mdmgolfin and Professor No-Name Thank this. -

I just remember going to one that was off of a bypass routed highway. An it was sorta near the corner of the frontage rd and the street it was on. It was a small building that looked nothing like a mclane would normally look like.bryan21384 Thanks this.

You've described it to a tee. If inahd opted to sleep there, that would've been a great spot. It's real quiet there. Isn't there a bigger McLane there? Or is it PFG I'm thinking of?Professor No-Name, Thrasher28 and mdmgolfin Thank this.

Where do we usually get reloaded from after Olney? Robinson? My drop in St Louie fell thru, so I've gotta finish out this run tomorrow. Turns out I've been to that Walmart dc before, long time ago. Can't remember exactly how it went, seems it was a normal 3hr-ish unload. Kinda hope there's a preload waiting for me in robinson for Midwest tomorrow...bump my miles up this week from 3150 to 3300
Professor No-Name and Thrasher28 Thank this.
