That's unacceptable to leave something that obviously defective at a shipper. I think drivers lose sight of the fact that it's a team effort at these companies. Yes individually we earn checks to make our living, but we gotta put each other in position to succeed. Every trailer I drop is always swept out, repaired, and full of reefer fuel, as well as ready to load. All the next driver has to do is hook and go. Gotta do my part to make a strong company stronger lol.wulfman75, dwells40, lual and 1 other person Thank this.

Ahhh man it's definitely a chilly temp there where you're at. I got to around Lebanon, TN and parked on an interstate ramp lol. I'll finish off to Kinloch tomorrow. They get 12 of the 19 pallets of this load. So was the load to Henkel a 24 hr facility?Thrasher28 and Lumper Humper Thank this.

Nice!!! I know they had you check in at the Super 8 motel there. Last time I went there, the breakfast was surprisingly good! That biscuit and gravy was hitting. When I got started here orientation was 3 days. It seems like they've cut that in ½ these days. It'll be a breeze though.Peace_Maker and Lumper Humper Thank this.

I believe so. It's a drop and hook, but it's pretty cramped, so maybe they just didn't have room. I've dropped there on a Friday at 22:00 before. Hooked to an empty at Craftsmen and getting it washed out at the bay in East STL Southern Tire Mart. Apparently this empty was pretty urgent, and I didn't notice the Qualcomm message for 30 minutes after I forgot the sound was muted. Whoops. Or maybe they thought I hadn't arrived to Craftsmen? I don't know. They'll survive lol.
Drop and hooking at Baily's, and then headed to Duluth, GA for a Friday delivery. My home time request was anytime Friday, so it should still be on track.Last edited: Dec 6, 2023

This morning rubbed me the wrong way already. In need of an impromptu dentist appointment on Monday, since there's no shot I'll be home in time tomorrow. Asked to be home until 14:00 Monday instead of leaving anytime. Evidently, that's not an option since they have a load needing to deliver in STL at 09:00 Monday. (On a side note, getting home at 22:00 Friday and leaving home at 02:30 Monday isn't what's generally implied with get home Friday, leave Monday requests. It is trucking though, so I understand) Then thought a reasonable option would be to offer to stay out Saturday, so I could run the load to Craftsmen and pick up something going back by the house. Evidently, that's not an option either lol. I guess my next hail Mary will be asking to cover a drivers mileage pay difference and Climate's mileage rate to have someone swap loads with me. If not, I'll just be requesting for a day home ASAP, I guess.
Only other special hometime request was for a 30 mile detour, which I offered to stay out on Thanksgiving, and did, to cover it.
I feel like I'm being pretty flexible for only needing the morning free on Monday, but it is what it is. We'll see what they say for me offering to pay out of pocket for some kind of swap.Last edited: Dec 7, 2023

So to understand you correctly, you were supposed to get to the dentist Friday, but since you won't make it, you had to reschedule for Monday?Lumper Humper Thanks this.

How's everything in orientation going so far?Lumper Humper Thanks this.

Had a pretty big filling fall out of a molar last night. Would rather get it fixed sooner than later for infection and preventing further damage lol, but it's not an absolutely needs to get fixed Monday thing. Just sensitive as hell and don't want it to turn into an infection, crack, or anything else crazy. I figured it would be easier to extend hometime by half a day, but I reckon not.
More so the fact that it was just a 'no, we can't do that' 4 days in advance, instead of 'I'll see if I can work something out'.
All good though. My expectations were low after seeing Thanksgiving pay isn't a thing here anyways. But hey, at least we're a family, right?bryan21384, dwells40 and Lumper Humper Thank this.
