I have heard that about the 10 yr thing before, yet other companies will buy those trailers all day long an put em in service.

Big companies get rid of them after the 10 years or less. The last company I worked for had an old Prime trailer, it was only about 6 years old at the time though. He had to spend a lot of money to get it ready before I took it on the road. I can always tell when it's about time to get rid of a trailer. Honestly, not all of 25 series were bad trailers. Hell I think some of them were better than some of the 36 series trailers.

Always amazing seeing an early 2000's reefer screaming away in Georgia while being pulled by a west coast company lol. Their cargo insurance must be crazy expensive.

I know every dollar counts, but I can't imagine the headache and stress of running a 10+ year old reefer from coast to coast is worth the dollars saved.

Even freshly rebuilt, it's still got tons of water weight and won't maintain temp nearly as easy as a new one.

I guess I could see it's viability if they have a protect from freezing customer and they're up along 80 and 90 often

That's when a trailer shows its age....freezer loads, especially in the summer time. There are tines where it gets so hot that it won't get to below 10 that quickly, then other times where it's so old the same thing happens. That's what Chris has told me that time. It's about the viability and liability of the freight.

Made it to Manassas, and the overnight parking reviews were correct. Way more pleasant of a drive than I expected it to be also. Was expecting 522 to be a lot rougher of a drive and I thought Manassas was closer to DC than it is. Was as easy of a run as Palmyra.

I'm just hoping they don't send me up to Philly or something from here tomorrow

It's been a while since I've gone to VA but the last time I went there, I reloaded Coke in Harrisonville. Another time, I reloaded in Richmond. Receivers with parking, that's a winner for me.

How's Palmyra as far as times for load being ready? Scheduled for 0300 tomorrow. Was just wondering if I'm better off trying to pick it up around 21:00 after my 10 and running overnight or planning on early tomorrow AM

Edit: Nvm, welcome center was super friendly and helpful. They said to call back in a few hours since it's in the process of being picked.

Palmyra will probably have that loaded well ahead of time. The last time I went there, they gave me a pickup date for the next day. When I dropped off the loaded on there, I saw the one I was picking up that was ready. I drove back around to the office to make sure and I was golden. There was another time where I dropped a load in Maryland on a Memorial Day. That year it fell on a Monday. The load info said Wednesday of that week. I called like you did and that load was ready 2 days early. By the time you get over there, check in, wait in the bobtail area, it'll probably still be daylight when you get that trailer.

Has anyone been to lineage logistics in Louisville Kentucky on 607 Industry Rd.? Wanting to know if there is overnight parking available there or in the very general vicinity?

That's a new one for me. I've never been there. I'd go over there and just create a spot somewhere in that lot. Maybe you'll check in and they'll take it off early. It looks like enough space as long as it ain't a whole bunch of trucks trying to do the same thing.
