Does Schneider use the closed Seville, OH terminal as a drop yard? I see a lot of trailers and a few tractors when I drive by. I live close to the termnal and would love to be able to park the tractor trailer their when I go home.

They closed the terminal. I personally have dropped trailers there maybe 6 times in the 8 weeks I have driven for them. I asked another driver and was told that it was not being used properly by the drivers so they closed it. The new team drivers need a new fuel that that OC was not set up to distribute for whatever reason. The guys in the shop had been labeled as lazy, slow, and incompetent, so guys were not taking there trucks there for service. Lastly, I know that even with the OC there, the guys were continually getting routed to fuel at the Pilot at x204 on I-71. However, I am new so that could be all trucker talk, but it seemed reasonable to me.

I realize that the terminal is closed. I was asking if it is used by Schneider as a drop yard (where I could park my truck for home time)? There are quite a few trailers there all the time.

Then the answer is yes. It is used at drop yard, relay point, parking area. There is a couple security guards in a mini-barn, and no other services.

Thanks RoadRaider3r. By the way, I know what Schneider's website states for driver requirements/citations, but in your experience going through the hiring process, what are their true requirements? The reason I ask is because of a citation (Failure to maintain control") I received on 1/13/2010 related to an accident. I hit some ice and caused a collision. -no speeding, or any other citations; no injuries. I have tried to speak to a recruiter on the telephone to get their opinion/recommendation about how long I would have to wait until Schneider would consider me as a candidate, but lines are often busy or no reply(?).

Again, I always could get ahold of my recruiter. I never heard of them having trouble responding at that point of contact. Just keep pushing ahead , try to get a different recruiter like from dedicated or regional, as I remember that is options when navigating the phone system towards an actual person. As far as requirements for driving record I do not know. I failed to renew my license one time, and didnt know until I got pulled over. That happened maybe ten years ago, and knock on wood, was the only driving type issue I have had in probably 15 years.

They do still use that as a drop yard. I wish it was still open i thought it was one of the best OC's and shops they had, i never had a problem having any work done there. They closed it down due to budget issues about a year and a half ago.

Yep, a shame they closed it, as they are only a 15 minute drive from my house. I hope against hope that Schneider (or someone else) will consider me after January 2011 for their School Graduate Driver program. January will be 12 months since my car accident and citation for "failure to maintain control" relating to hitting ice and spinning causing a collision. Swift told me since damage to my car was over $2500. they couldn't take me for at least a year. I wonder if I had told the recruiter any cost amount she would have told me "Oh, I'm sorry, but you just missed the cut-off point." lol Company websites will list "no more than 2-3 driving violations or 1 accident in 2-3 years, yet with my 1 citation, I can't even get a look because of my bone head mistake. N, I am not blaming companies refusing me for my mistake. I only wish company websites would tell you what they really mean when they list these requirements; instead, it seems that during our conversation, they contradict themselves and the driver requirements listed just seems arbitrary and change while we are on the telephone. I wonder if I would get two different answers from different recruiters, or if they basically have a "company line" that they have to follow? In other words, one recruiter will work with you to try to get you in, and another will immediately just say "no." I am sure the Safety department would be the ones to make a true determination. Hmmm, this turned into a vent.
