That’s a long down time. Do you have a back up truck or a rental?

 

Not yet. When the equipment bubble breaks I want to try and get a newer truck.
When I broke down in El Paso I tried to get a rental was told they had a 3 month waitlist.

 

Rental yard has thousands of rentals all over the country

 

Got the truck back today.
Booked a load from Portland ME to Mesquite TX on Tuesday.

 

Someone was telling me CT may have a dispatch service or trying to work on a trial run? thoughts? o/o power only atm. Trailer list is too long. Might do flatbed but not comfortable.

 

First I'm hearing of a dispatch service.

Been thinking of flatbed myself. Flatbed rates are still very good.
I've only ever done dry van. Would want some training on securement before I felt comfortable to do it myself.

 

Finally got all the hardware to mount the gps and ipad to the dash.
Bought a bottle of Hot Shots secret just for the hell of it, see if it does anything to clean out the injectors. Crap smells like straight kerosene. Got a bottle of their oil additive to try out later.
Hoping for some sun tomorrow to dry everything off so I can get the Vorblades on the tractor.

Been watching the stats while I've been home. Not looking very good. 92,000 new authorities were granted in 2021 alone. Think most of those new entries went dry van/refrigerated.
When rates were up everyone wanted in, now we just got to hold on for the shakeout and I know its coming.
Perfect example the husband of a coworker of my father has never been in trucking, doesn't have a cdl, knows nothing about the industry but bought a truck and a trailer to try and cash in.
The repos will begin in a few months more than likely.
