Lost count. Had a good laugh with "it's a whip, not an antenna" though...

It's a whip not an antenna, He don't know the spring is needed to make the think resonate, He takes his two antennas out and puts the 102" in one mount and leave the other open, he's not using a cophase coax, instead two coax to a tee at the radio, ( i'm pretty sure) Then he fails on his radio check and says it "works sweet". Giggles the original must think he's on Lets Truck Forum. LOL

If it's the 108 whip that MFJ sells, no spring is needed. However as close as it is to the tool box, he'll be lucky if he doesn't key up and the antenna doesn't happen to make contact with the tool box. A tennis ball might be a good idea here. I like the "10-4....testing" initiation. Typically one asks for a "radio check". But alas he calls it a "sound check". lol. Guess he better get that calibration done he's talking about. lol. Can't get it in the garage, guess he's not familiar with tying the whip back or maybe getting one of those quick disconnects for 102 whips. No wonder he disabled comments on his youtube video. lol He'd be plagued with more negative comments than he could handle.

And "antennas are coated with fiberglass or plastic"...

I do believe that it is a proper "duel" antenna harness; he does state that both pieces of coax go into one connector. Also, if you look at the shot just before he zooms in on the radio, both pieces of coax are hanging side by side, an inch or so away from the connector.

However, if his harness is correctly cut, the unterminated quarter wave piece of coax is acting like a short circuit. I bet his radio loves that...
