Noticed today when going through a couple roundabouts that when I went to start turning and let out of the turn I heard a couple clunks, coming from driver side . After that I was at a stop sign and had to go right and after I turned And let out of the turn I heard a single clunk from passenger side . Does not do it by turning the wheel when sitting still. Don’t hear anything when going around curves at highway speed. I did turn left and right afrom a stop sign and didn’t hear it. Maybe more of the way the truck is angled during turns ? I travel the same roads and it’s definitely new. Seems like only at low speed. Do not feel it in the wheel, truck is greased every other week. Kingpins we’re checked few weeks ago for preventive maintenance as was rest of the front end . Wont be able to check it out till tonight just curious if anyone knows what it could be and what to look for it

My first guess would be spring hangers, the bushings are worn out.

Could this possibly be the problem ? Steering box where tie rod connects ?

I have seen trucks with play between pitman arm shaft and steering box. Also between pitman arm shaft and pitman arm. Also play in ball and socket joints. Do not recall hearing noise from any of them. None of those things are desirable but probably not your noise.

Is your 5th wheel greased? Check the 5th wheel bushings too

    Rideandrepair and Moon_beam Thank this.

Steering box and pitman look normal.

I agree most likely a spring or shackle pin.

    Grease or rubber bushings?

    Oxbow and Rideandrepair Thank this.

Check for rust trails around the nuts and bolt heads on your steer spring bushings. If there's no rust, grease your 5th wheel. If it still persists, grease your hood rests.
