OP could drive one like that for a long time too without hurting it. Just have to be patient with it. And if it must come out of gear no biggie, no need to grind, just shut it off and move it into gear when starting it back up. Since he's going to have downtime (likely during the work week) taking it to a shop he might as well keep driving it for a while longer while freight is still good and then get it fixed in Jan or Feb after freight falls off the cliff again.

Nobody removes the clutch and transmission to do a clutch brake unless they don't know what the hell they're doing or trying to rip you off... You cut the old one off and install a 2-piece. It can all by done from reaching in the dust cover.

You pedal could also be out of adjustment. It shouldn't go right to the floor

In the future, when the truck is in gear and you're rolling, don't push the clutch all the way to the floor.

Don’t take this wrong but you need to learn how to drive the truck.

Hey they made it 480k miles! An idiot where I work tore three clutch brakes out in less than 100k miles! And he's been driving somewhere around 5 years. He killed two 10 speed transmissions, probably half a dozen clutch brakes, grenaded two drive shafts and two rears. And he's still employed. But he's the bosses nephew.

I got 350 on the clutch and trans. 2 mechanics say I need a new clutch also.

Clutch works good. Clutch brake never had the best adjustment but it worked till recently. My clutch is linkage.

I don't think the throwout bearing got much lube maint. though.

And yes. I know how to drive. Can't say about others that use my truck on my off days though.

I’ve replaced the clutch brake on my Freightliner Century laying on my back in the parts store parking lot with a flat head screwdriver.

Replace the clutch before the year end and write it off.
Riding with ####ed up clutch ain't pretty... is what Gerry from Louisiana once told me.
