Thanks, but I did read it and thats what got me to thinking of getting this instead of the cobra 7750, but I guess the question I was asking was since there the same price which is more user friendly for a driver, the droid or laptop version of the software, I would think the droid would be.

They are actually very similar as far as "user friendly" because ALK Technologies wrote the interface to be "universal" across their platforms: PCM Navigator, CoPilot 8, and Smartphone.

My personal feeling on choosing between smartphone or laptop has to do with the PLATFORM ITESELF. That's where the real differences lie.

Laptop or Netbook: MUCH larger screen and usually a louder speaker. But needs to be properly mounted too. Need to have an aircard to use the real-time traffic and weather.

Smartphone: MUCH smaller screen and usually quieter speaker than most laptops. Easily portable. Sometimes have to stop navigation to answer a call or use the phone itself. Realtime traffic is always on as long as you are in a good cellular signal area.

In both cases they have to be plugged into power naturally. Navigation programs will kill a full cell charge rather quickly.

Droid, touch screen much easier to use on the fly and can be mounted more in front. Looking to the side in heavy traffic (when you need it the most) is a little distracting.
